Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of Papu at https://papu.work. By using the service you agree to them. Effective 2026-07-23, version 1.0. The Czech version prevails in case of conflict.

Last updated: 2026-07-23

1. Who runs the service

Papu is operated by Appsibly (Daniel Vazač) ("the operator").

Contact: daniel.vazac@email.cz.

2. What the service does

Papu helps split a bill between several people and generates a payment QR code (Czech QR Platba / SPAYD format) from the details you enter. It also lets you run a group food order others join by link, optionally connected to Slack.

Papu is not a payment institution or payment intermediary. It never executes, holds or receives funds. The QR code is only a visual encoding of payment details entered by you or another participant; the payment itself is made in your own bank.

Papu does not place food orders with restaurants or delivery platforms. The person who created the group places the order directly with the provider.

3. Accounts and age

  • The service can be used anonymously or with an account.
  • When registering you provide accurate details and are responsible for keeping your password safe.
  • Accounts are personal; do not share credentials.
  • The service is for people aged 16 and over.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the Account section. Deleting it also removes your orders and the groups you own.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law or infringe the rights of others;
  • enter more personal data about other people than a split needs (a first name or nickname is enough);
  • attempt unauthorised access to accounts, data or infrastructure;
  • scrape the service, flood it with requests or circumvent rate limits;
  • use the service to collect payments fraudulently or otherwise mislead other participants.

The operator may restrict or close an account that breaches these rules.

5. Payment details and responsibility between users

Bank account numbers (IBAN), amounts, variable symbols and item splits are entered by you. The operator does not verify them and is not liable for a payment sent to the wrong account or for the wrong amount.

Everything between participants (who owes what, refunds, complaints about the food) is between them. The operator is not a party to it and acts neither as intermediary nor escrow.

6. Third-party services

Papu displays menus and data from Bolt Food and Foodora, uses OpenStreetMap for address lookup and optionally connects to Slack. The operator is not affiliated with these companies and does not guarantee the accuracy or availability of their data. Their own terms apply to their services.

7. Availability

The service is provided free of charge, "as is", without any warranty of availability or of being error-free. The operator may change, limit or discontinue it at any time, and will try to give reasonable notice before a planned shutdown.

Keep your own copy of anything important; a data export is available in the Account section.

8. Liability

The operator is liable only to the extent required by mandatory law. In particular it is not liable for indirect damage, lost profit, data loss, or damage caused by incorrectly entered payment details or by a third-party outage.

Statutory consumer rights are not affected.

9. Content and intellectual property

The source code, design and name of the service belong to the operator. Content you put into the service (item names, participant names, amounts) stays yours; you grant the operator only the permission needed to process it in order to run the service.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. A new version is published on this page with its effective date and version number. Registered users are notified of material changes on their next sign-in. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the change; if you do not, delete your account.

11. Governing law and disputes

Czech law applies and Czech courts have jurisdiction.

Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution through the Česká obchodní inspekce (Czech Trade Inspection Authority, www.coi.cz) or the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
